Presentation Abstract

Ways to Effectively Communicate MBSE Concepts to Both Technical and Business Audiences

  • Speaker: David D. Walden - ESEP
  • When: Day 2 : Monday May 22nd
  • There is a saying in the Netherlands: “It is not enough to be right, people have to accept that you are right.” It is through effective communication that we help others accept that we are right. As Systems Engineers and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practitioners, we have the opportunity to communicate to a wide variety of people: from fellow MBSE practitioners, to software and hardware design engineers, to Project Managers, to customers, to executives, etc. You may be the best MBSE modeler in your organization, but if you cannot get others to accept your efforts and results you risk irrelevance. This presentation focuses on tailoring your MBSE communications based upon your target audience and objectives. Advice will be given to help you move from simply being right, to being accepted as right.
